AG against Drilling off Coast

July 1st, 2008 by flanews

Another Cabinet member came out in opposition to drilling off of Floridas coast. Attorney General Bill McCollum said hes against opening Floridas coast to oil rigs. McCollum said oil companies have plenty of land in the gulf theyre not using for drilling. McCollum said drilling in Florida wont have a real impact on gas prices.

Any kind of whole sale opening of the coast line of Florida to drilling is unnecessary to the bottom line to the energy needs of our country, said McCollum.

Last month Governor Charlie Crist changed his stance on drilling near Floridas coast.
