\/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Between March of last year when the state passed red flag legislation and August 5th, 1,707 people have had their weapons taken temporarily by a court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s working extremely well,\u201d said Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri<\/p>\n<p>Gualtieri, who is also President of the Florida Sheriff\u2019s Association, is a big supporter of the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, there\u2019s no doubt in my mind that the we have prevented violence because of it,\u201d said Gualtieri.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-2 \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Governor Ron DeSantis likes the policy as well, but thinks when it comes to mass shootings, threat assessments identifying politically motivated and other threats, could be more effective.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd you have some people who are just crazy and there\u2019s no clear motivation.
