Power Outage Hits South Florida
February 26th, 2008 by flanewsThe state Emergency Operations Center was activated this afternoon as news of a massive power outage spread. As many as 4 million people were with out electricity at the height of the outage. The EOC called in more than 50 people and prepared to call out the National Guard if power was not restored by early evening. State Emergency Director Craig Fugate said he has learned to plan for the worst and hope for the best.
