Health Care Suit Moves Forward
October 14th, 2010 by flanewsFlorida’s lawsuit against parts of the new health care law will go forward. A federal judge made a preliminary ruling this afternoon on a motion dismiss the lawsuit brought by Florida’s Attorney General and the Attorneys General of 19 other states. The judge ruled the suit, which challenges the constitutionality of a provision forcing people to buy health coverage, will go forward as scheduled. Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum was encouraged by the news. He sent out a statement saying quote:
“This ruling confirms the significance of this lawsuit protecting against the federal health care act’s intrusions on individual liberty and limited government.”
The trail is set for December 16th.
